TOWN AND PARISH STANDARDS
The Standards Board for England was established in 2001 to promote the ethical behaviour of councillors and other members who serve on a range of authorities. It investigates allegations that members may have breached the Code of Conduct that applies to councillors. Their site be found at: www.standardsboard.co.uk
The Local Authorities ( Model Code of Conduct ) Order 2007 No. 1159 is a statutory requirement and provides legal guidelines for fulfilling a role in public office.
This is supplemented by a November 2011 Briefing regarding the impact of The Localism Bill on Local Government Standards and Code of Conduct.
Stockton Parish Council is compliant with this code, which can be downloaded by clicking above. There are also guidelines issued by the Warwickshire Association of Local Councils that provide a quick reference to the code: WALC Code of Conduct, which can also be downloaded by clicking here.
