Libraries Consultation • Warwickshire County Council - FACING THE CHALLENGE
Warwickshire County Council must make unprecedented savings of up to £60 million by 2014 across all services, including libraries. Following the consultation process, Stockton is not seriously affected by the library closure programme as the Southam library will remain open for 35 hours per week.
Harbury library will close but the community will take over the library function with help from the County Council.

Background
Warwickshire County Council must make unprecedented savings of up to £60 million by 2014 across all our services.
• We have to cut £2 million from our £7.4 million Library & Information Service budget.
• To do this, major reform of all our services is necessary. Of the £2m cuts, about £1m is proposed from the libraries network and the other £1m cuts from support, specialist and management.
