Obituary for Bob Eaton

Bob Eaton

1942 – 2010

Bob Eaton aged 67 sadly passed away on Friday 4th June at the Alexandra hospital in Redditch following a courageous battle with a protracted illness. Living in Manor Road with his wife Jan, Bob moved to the village in 2004 following a number of years living locally on their narrow boat.

After a successful career in the Royal Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller, Bob retired in 1992.

Between 2005 and 2010, Bob was a Parish Councillor with Stockton Parish Council. As a Christian and active member of the village church, he was also involved with the work of the Parochial Church Council.

In addition to his ongoing work as a Parish Councillor, Bob will especially be remembered for the key role he played during the recent refurbishment of the village church and along with Jan the establishment of a teenage drop in centre. The former being a lasting legacy and testament to Bob’s personal input, drive and enthusiasm.

His dedication and hard work on behalf of the village will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with his wife Jan and his son David at this time.

A memorial service for Bob will be held in the village church on Saturday 3rd July 2010 at 2.00pm.
