Villager of the Year

The Parish Council are seeking nominations for Villager of the Year 2011.

This could be somebody who you think has contributed to community life in the village or it could be somebody who has been a help or support to you or someone else you know.

Please put a few lines on paper explaining your reasons, or in an email to this web site, for the attention of the Clerk, Robbie Robinson, at 74 George Street.

The deadline is 29th February 2012.

In 2010, the Parish Council has decided to make the award to the editorial team of Stockton's News – Wendy Rumsey, Marion Stringer and Steve Kittendorf in recognition of the tremendous job they have done in revitalising the parish magazine. It now has more advertisers, it is distributed to all homes in the parish, it has an attractive new format and is well used by most village organisations to keep people up to date with their activities.

The team have also won a substantial grant from Southam 20/20 and purchased a sophisticated printer and the printing and collating is now done in-house at a reduced cost.

The other nominations were Luke Sharples for his cricket coaching, Sandi Couchman for her work with various village organisations and Mrs Rolfe for the help that she has given to her neighbours in George Street.
