BMX Track/Skateboard Park

The Parish Council is supporting a local intiative to build a 'multi-use' Rollerblade, Skateboard and BMX Bike ramp complex on Stockton Recreation Ground for use by local young people.

The Parish Council has agreed to provide a grant of £5000 to kick start the project, but there has been no recent progress by the Steering Group set up to plan the project and budget (Lorraine Riddick, Anna Wheeler, Cheryl Knights and Peter Banham (Stockton Parish Councillor)).

A short term initiative has provided a new facility for bikes on the slide hill, using soil moved from the cemetery. The young people themselves actually made the jumps thus giving them an ownership of the facility, and will come back to the Parish Council if they have other requests.

As a safety measure the Parish Council is intending to fence the small children's play area and make a redesign of the ramp that should direct the larger children away from the swings.
